Love is preparing a delicious dinner for two and watching a movie together after your swarm of overly sugared up children are put down for bed for the night.

Basketball
I have failed so far in my fatherly duty of teaching the boys the fundamentals of basketball. Every time I have tried or talked about it before, they have shrugged it off. No longer! That, and peer pressure at school has started to work in my favor. Cate was at a party and Caleb was at McDonalds with his friends, so I had Luke all to myself. After running some chores like getting dinner together, we set off to the park and worked on dribbling, passing and shooting. I of course took no mercy and schooled him in HORSE, which I took great delight in. Take that 7 year old!
I have no idea why they camera warped the shape of the basketball, but it really is a basketball and not an egg. Oh well. This weekend should be nice and I shall crush all three children and bathe in their tears.

Windy Day
It was really windy today and I had 6 kids to watch. (grumble) We made the best of it. Unfortunately, it was gusts of 30 MPH and it was too much for our crappy kite.
Cousin Ada's many faces
Everyday I wake up and find that the pictures on the fridge have changed to some combination.

Tuesday is my Sunday
Cate and I took a field trip today to a duck park in Beaverton we haven't been to in a long time. It was a nice day and we decided to enjoy it before the boys came home. It was nice when it was sunny but it was still jacket weather. I'm a terrible dad though and forgot to have her pack her jacket. She didn't seem to mind though and was irritated by my constant asking if she was cold. Lots of running was the key.
We decided that the geese did not need hugs even after it was discussed that was why they were honking at us.
We came home and it was car washing time! I really like the retro color that they had a few years ago that was called Plum Crazy. After it was washed in the sunshine, the blue sky at an angle turned it purple! I had to get a picture. Didn't really turn out, but oh well.
The boys came home and after we did homework, (I hate homework, but every time we see someone on the corner swinging signs for some mattress place or pizza shop I tell the kids that person is there because they never did their homework. This is especially effective when its raining out.) they all wanted to play the computers. I dragged the babies outside to go play in the last of the sun. So. Much. Whining. "I can't find my shoes. I can't find my jacket. I have to go to the bathroom."
10 minutes later:
Cate literally said "Thanks dad for making us go outside!" Sigh. Oh well. Fire in the woodstove, grill warming up, steaks are rubbed, and just waiting on momma Jen!

New Sheriff In Town
I'm taking over this blog see...I log in everyday and am sad there are no updates, so I'll make my own!
We decided to go to Tillamook to go to the cheese factory. It turned out to be a great idea. It was gray and gross at home, but was beautiful and sunny at the beach. This for anyone not familiar with Oregon's weather is quite an anomaly. We had a beautiful drive there and then took the tour.
The kids took turns at driving the cheesewagon
Mom and dad posed as a cow and farmer. I drew the short straw and had to be the cow :-(
We went upstairs and watched them on the cheese line. This was pretty entertaining as the workers waved to the kids. Sidenote: It would suck to have your job in a fishbowl.
We then of course had to get samples. Cheese curds are disgusting and Jen has turned the kids against me in this regard. They love them.
Also, Tillamook is known for their ice cream, and it was good leverage on the kids to keep their whining down to a dull roar.
After this, we went to the Blue Heron Cheese Company. Jen was excited for their Brie and we looked at their wines and other delicious treats. Fun for us, not so much for the kids. Luckily, they have plenty of animals to look at as well.
It was a really nice day. We got to be together as a family which we are seeing lately is a harder and harder thing to do with kids getting older and having other responsibilities and people and DATING to attend to. Sigh.
Hopefully this is Jen's kick in the rear end to post more stuff! My crummy phone doesn't take near as nice pictures as her camera.
